Jane Slinn

Jane graduated from King’s College, Cambridge with a first in English, and as a scholar and prize-winner of the college. Her final-year dissertation on Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s aesthetics received the highest mark in her graduating year. She went on to study for her M.Phil. (distinction; top of year) and Ph.D. at the same institution. Jane taught extensively at Cambridge, supervising students on a wide range of subjects in the English and Philosophy faculties, as well as for papers in literature and visual culture.
Jane was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn in 2011, as a Lord Hardwicke, Lord Haldane and Lord Denning (Major) scholar of the Inn. She worked for Cleary Gottlieb, a US law firm in the City of London, and for the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation before setting up her own education consultancy in 2015. The company’s foci are on introducing school-age students to university-level educational experiences and supporting students in their university applications. Jane and her tutors work with many of the leading independent schools in the UK, supporting their students with their university applications.
Jane has over ten years’ experience of advising students on their university applications. Jane’s students have been highly successful in achieving places at Oxbridge, UCL, and LSE, especially for Economics, PPE, Law, English Literature, Classics and History. Jane has also been an examiner for the essay section of the BMAT (Bio-Medical Admissions Test) in Cambridge.
